Mangools Vs Semrush

Mangools and Semrush are pretty popular, albeit, in different markets. While Mangools offers its 5 amazing tools for cheap, Semrush’s higher prices give way to a more robust set of tools for professionals. Yet, both are frequently used for vital SEO tasks.

These include keyword research, competitive analysis, rank tracking, and much more. Now, deciding between Semrush and Mangools is a daunting task. Should you pay way less and settle for just 5 tools? Or perhaps, should you spend more on Semrush and go with way more?

Mangools vs Semrush Features Comparison

We’ll jump right in by comparing their features and see how they stack up.

Our recent Semrush test praised this provider’s all-aroundness. But can Mangools repeat the success and be nearly as good as its rival? All answers are below; keep reading.

Keyword Research

Keyword research is paramount to boosting your rankings and swimming out on top of the competition. Mangools has its KWFinder tool, which works like a charm. You input the keyword and get stuff like keyword suggestions, difficulty, volume, and so on.

We love this tool because it’s intuitive and takes virtually seconds to get going. The left-hand side of the window lets you apply different filters and even detect related questions. Moreover, you can search by domain and find its ranking keywords for more information.

Kwfinder Interface

KWFinder also offers the SERP Overview on the right, with the number of monthly searches. Its keyword difficulty metric, however, isn’t the most accurate, and we’d say it’s “mild”. In other words, incredibly difficult-to-rank-for keywords are portrayed as a bit easier.

Now, Semrush has its Keyword Magic Tool, which is phenomenal. It gives you hundreds of suggestions that you can play around with. When doing your keyword analysis, you can set filters that allow you to discover long-tail keywords for more specific subjects.

Moreover, the data quality is top-notch. You get things like volume, difficulty, CPC, questions, related keywords, keyword variations, and much more. Users can also use the Keyword Overview tool to get details about each keyword and see if it’s worth fighting for.

This time, you’ll get more precision and a more “realistic” difficulty score. Other tools from Semrush include Keyword Gap and the new Keyword Strategy Builder which lets you strategically build your pages and optimize them more meticulously for a better outcome.

As for the Keyword Gap, it discovers ranking keywords of your competitors that you can capitalize on. Discover them, implement them on your site, and watch the rankings grow.

Who Wins? Semrush

The first Mangools vs Semrush round belongs to the latter. This is a WAY more advanced keyword research tool with more information and better accuracy. While Mangools KWFinder is great for basic needs, Semrush’s tools cover even professionals.

Backlink Analysis and Link Building

Our SEO experts – and many others – deem link building the pillar of SEO strategy. After Semrush’s win in the first round, let’s see how both fare in this extremely important category.

Semrush

Semrush offers several link-building tools. One is Backlink Analytics, which lets you enter a domain address and analyze the backlink profile of the website. Discovering referring domains, monthly visits, organic traffic, and authority scores is a breeze – no errors there.

Semrush’s incredibly detailed graphs show a multitude of data, all easily accessible. To amplify the experience, the provider includes the Backlink Audit tool to examine your website. You’ll find toxic, broken, and good backlinks, all of which are important.

Of course, broken and toxic backlinks require removal, which you can swiftly do to prevent your ranking’s harm. We love the Backlink Gap tool, which lets you discover referring domains of your competitors and “close” the “gap” by acquiring the same backlinks.

Our favorite is the link-building tool. You can use it to find prospects for your domain in the form of advised backlinks. In other words, you’ll see websites suitable for linking to your domain, with their URL type and authority score; the higher, the better.

Semrush Backlinks

From here, you can directly contact the website and ASK for a backlink. Alternatively, you can request a guest post and/or product review and cooperate swiftly for mutual benefits. Semrush offers plenty in terms of backlink analysis and link-building.

Mangools

Mangools offers the LinkMiner tool, which is… well, “okay.” Once you provide the domain, you’ll get a detailed backlink evaluation. You can discover active/deleted links, NoFollow/Follow links, referring IPs, and much more. There are a few unique factors.

Linkminer Mangools
© Mangools

One of them is Citation Flow or CF, which essentially measures the authority of the website. Trust Flow or TF, represents the quality of the backlink pointing to the site. By clicking on the New tab, you’ll discover the domain’s new backlinks. Conversely, there’s the Lost tab.

This one highlights the lost backlinks; nothing else is there.

Who Wins? Semrush

As you can see, Semrush easily wins against Mangools in this round. Mangools offers only a fraction of what Semrush can do. The company includes basic backlink information, with NO link-building tool. Semrush has struck gold with its all-around backlink-related tools.

Perform Link-Building With Semrush

Apart from comprehensive analyses you can perform in seconds, tools like backlink audits and most notably, its dedicated link-building tool, are second to none. Mangools will have to significantly improve its watered-down LinkMiner to come close.

Position Tracking

Mangools offers its famous SERPWatcher for position tracking. It’s extremely intuitive and allows for a swift setup to get you started. Provide your domain, select the location, pick the desired platform (desktop/mobile), and add the keywords you want to track.

From here, you will get all the rankings, including ranking changes, search volumes, and a performance index graph. Mangools SERPWatcher will display the top losers and gainers, referring to the keywords that lost or gained the most “traction” in a given period.

We appreciate being able to turn on email alerts. This will inform you of ranking changes weekly, monthly, or in a user-defined period. Moving on with our Mangools vs Semrush duel, the latter is pretty similar – you get everything from the former but more.

Things like keyword visibility, average position, and estimated traffic are all there. Furthermore, Semrush will display your keyword rankings in the top 3, top 10, top 20, or top 100 positions on Google. There’s something that Mangools is missing; more details.

Semrush Position Tracking

By that, we think about cannibalization reports. These tell you if two or more pages are ranking for the same keyword, harming each other’s performance. Semrush Guru offers this feature, while the Pro plan lacks it, so in the end, you have to pay a tad more for it.

In terms of limits, Mangools is more generous than its rival. Its most expensive Agency plan, which is cheaper than Semrush’s least expensive Pro plan, tracks 1,500 keywords daily. You’ll have to pay for Guru to get the same and the Pro plan can track just 500 daily keywords.

Who Wins? Tie

The Position Tracking round is the closest one so far. Both are accurate and easy to set up. Semrush offers Cannibalization reports that we find ever so useful. Yet, they’re available only in the two most expensive plans. Mangools can track more keywords, however. Plus, you don’t have to pay more to get certain reports

Given their stark similarities, the Position Tracking round is a tie.

Technical SEO & Site Audits

We mentioned that Mangools have 5 SEO tools but we addressed only 3. While its SERPChecker is great for in-depth SERP analysis, Semrush offers the same possibilities scattered throughout its other tools. And the other – SiteProfiler, isn’t really a tool.

It’s your Domain Overview that displays basic information about each website. We talked more about that in our Mangools review. Technical SEO and site audits are NOT to be found in Mangools, whereas, Semrush offers much in this regard. Where do we start?

Semrush Site Audit 2
© Semrush

Well, Semrush can at least audit your website and check for errors harming your ranking and functionality. It highlights your core web vitals and tells you if you need to speed up the site. Not only IF but HOW to do it! There’s also the On-Page SEO Checker. We love this one.

It analyzes the page you provide, offering valuable optimization ideas to make it shine. The SEO Content Template provides you with semantically related words, backlink advice, and the text length you should aim for. As mentioned, you can even audit your backlinks!

Semrush Backlink Audit

Thanks to the Disavow function, you can get rid of the links you want Google to ignore. One thing to note is that Semrush can crawl JS pages and compare your current crawl to the previous ones. Beware that the crawling limits depend on your subscription.

For example, the Pro (cheapest) plan crawls 100,000 monthly pages, while the Guru plan crawls 300,000. Both should be enough for the majority of people.

Who Wins? Semrush

No doubt, Semrush takes this one by virtue of having technical SEO abilities. Mangools completely misses the spot and lacks them, making it non-competitive in this regard.

Content Marketing

Our final Semrush vs Mangools features comparison is content marketing. Again, an easy one because the latter lacks any form of it. Content Marketing is non-essential but when it’s there, it makes the experience SO much better. Semrush offers Topic Research.

This feature provides you with content ideas, their volumes, and keywords to target. It can be expanded to a mind map for a more graphical overview. One of our favorite features is the SEO Writing Assistant, which is a superb SEO tool to gain traction quickly.

Semrush Seo Content Template
© Semrush

This one looks like Grammarly but with some steroids injected. It will find grammar errors, giving you a readability score and advice on how to improve it. Better yet, you’ll get keyword advice and what to do to transform the page into a high-ranking one. There’s more.

You have this Smart Writer that can compose and rephrase sentences and text, making it sound more in line with your goals. This AI writer even writes new content for you based on your parameters. Of course, plagiarism checks are included to ensure originality.

Who Wins? Semrush

Mangools has nothing remotely close to these revolutionary features. This indicates that Semrush wins because it lacks the competition. However, even if there was competition, this provider would win because of its professional-grade qualities.

Improve Your SEO With Semrush

Semrush vs Mangools: Ease of Use

Ease of use is mostly a subjective thing. Some prefer Semrush over Ahrefs and vice versa.

However, you can’t deny Mangools’ greatness in this aspect. Its 5 SEO tools are intuitive and can be set up in seconds. This simplicity has two reasons. One, Mangools is rather basic.

Mangools Site Profiler
© Mangools

As a result, it doesn’t offer many sub-menus and advanced reports that you can dig out. Second, the design. It looks and feels fresh as if it’s made to make you happy. Semrush looks stunning too and its graph-rich menus and tools beckon you to stop and look them closely.

We appreciate Semrush’s design overall, as it lists all the available tools left, leaving the rest for the tool you’ve selected. Using Semrush on a big monitor feels like you’re in a Sci-Fi movie, with all the information laid out perfectly. Yet, Semrush is more complex in general.

Semrush Interface
© SEMrush

We go back to our reasons from above; the amount of information. The provider offers a LOT to sift through and has dozens more tools, spawning the “issue” of complexity. If you’ve used Mangools and want to switch to this one, it’ll take a bit of time to get adapted.

As a whole, we’ll say that Mangools is easier to use and more beginner-friendly. However, don’t be afraid to give Semrush a go; we’re sure you’ll get used to it after an hour.

Mangools vs Semrush Price Comparison

Price-wise, we’ve established earlier in this Semrush vs Mangools analysis that the former is more expensive.

By how much? Let’s start with Mangools:

Mangools Price
© Mangools

The company has discontinued its Entry plan, so the cheapest you can go is the Basic one. At $29.90/mo for the annual plan, you can track 200 keywords and perform 100 keyword look-ups. Users get unlimited tracked domains, alas with no extra seats.

The Premium plan is the safest bet. At $44.90 a month for the 1-year plan, you’re looking at 700 tracked keywords daily, 3 extra seats, and 500 keyword look-ups. Finally, the Agency plan at $89.90/mo is great, with 1,500 daily tracked keywords and 5 extra seats.

Semrush Annual Price
© Semrush.com

Semrush starts at $117.33/mo for the Pro plan. The price of Semrush is actually not that expensive considering the broadness of the tool. However, the Pro plan tracks 500 keywords, which is less than Mangools in its Premium plan, yet, Semrush is 60% more expensive.

Get the Best Price on Semrush

Moving on to Guru, Semrush bumps the price further to $208.33/mo for its annual variant. We deem this plan the best overall, with 1,500 trackable keywords, 15 projects, multi-location tracking, and even bespoke cannibalization reports.

The Business plan isn’t for everyone, so unless you have lots of sites and a “serious” company, you likely won’t benefit that much. Mangools is undoubtedly way cheaper and a better option if you have budget constraints. Does this mean you should get it instead?

It depends. A much better budget-conscious option is SE Ranking which has been tested by our team. It’s pretty close to Semrush and still costs meagerly.

Which One Offers Better Free SEO Tools?

The Semrush vs Mangools battle rages on, as we compare their free offers. Unlike SE Ranking and Ahrefs, you get a full-fledged free plan that gives you access to almost all premium features in both cases. However, you’re limited as to what you can do.

Semrush, for example, lets you manage 1 project at a time. You can also make up to 10 requests to the Analytics reports daily. This translates to only 10 keyword look-ups or, let’s say, 5 domain researches and 5 keyword look-ups. You get the point.

The provider also offers a 7-day free trial, which lets you test the premium version without these limits. Mangools has a free plan and you get certain limits for all tools. KWFinder lets you perform 5 keyword research, while SERPWatcher lets you track 1 website.

We prefer Semrush’s free version because it’s still more insightful than Mangools. Besides, you get access to almost all of the tools that are more numerous than the few tools like KWFinder, LinkMiner, and others. That makes Semrush the #1 free SEO tool in our book.

Customer Support: Semrush or Mangools?

Before we wrap up this Mangools vs Semrush duel, let’s quickly address their customer support. As we’ve been using both for years, we really struggle to find any negatives in this aspect. Both offer responsive support teams ready to tackle your needs at any moment.

To be frank, we faced no issues with either software, so we rarely had to reach for support. When we did, just out of curiosity, both were friendly enough. Their knowledge bases are also filled with information about subscriptions, refunds, features, and so forth.

As a result, you won’t have to bother contacting support and potentially waiting for a few minutes.

The Final Verdict: Semrush Beats Mangools

We’ve seen this from afar; Semrush emerged as an absolute winner against Mangools.

It’s like pinning a Chihuahua against a Rottweiler. Both are great and beloved but you can’t say the former can beat the latter. So, we shall answer the question from the start. Which SEO tool to get?

With the current proposition and everything we said, it’s easy to conclude that you should get Semrush instead of Mangools. Yes, it’s more expensive but the price difference is justified. Instead of 5, you get at least 10 useful tools and more accurate information.

Not only that; Semrush is more informative and provides cannibalization reports and content marketing that Mangools isn’t. Our team thinks that Semrush Pro is enough to get you going. If you have enough money, invest in Guru, and don’t look back; you’ll enjoy it.

Mangools is a solid option for the start but once you get serious about improving your website SEO, it’ll look bleak. That’s why Semrush remains the king and our recommended choice at the end.
